Hotel Sipan is situated at the front of a 2.5 km long bay in the charming fishermen’s village of Sipanska Luka, facing west towards the unique beauty of the Elaphiti Islands and only 300 metres from a sandy beach.
Sipan Island is only 9 sea miles away from Dubrovnik. With its mix of restored stone houses, luxury villas and historic churches, Sipanska Luka is one of those rare places where old customs and traditions are still alive.
You will be waking up to the sound of crickets, the fragrant blossoms of rosemary and the sea and end the day with stunning sunsets that redden the sky and the mountains.
The Sipan boasts a Cocktail-, Ice Cream- and Coffee Bar as well as several waterfront cafés. There are also several other small gravel beaches around the bay, including a nudist beach.
For every hotel guest a free scuba diving try-out lesson in the bay is offered. In the vicinity you can visit a night club, a market with local specialities, the imposing Castle Skočibuha and the Church of Saint Duha in Suđurad.

Area information
The boat connecting Dubrovnik and Šipan also stops at all of the main islands belonging to the Elaphiti archipelago and you can hop off, spend some time on an island, and continue your trip with the next ferry a couple of hours later.
Hotel Sipan organises trips to any of the local islands, as well as big game fishing. Experience what it is like to spend a day on a ship like a fisherman, catching your own fish.
There are 32 little churches and chapels spread around the island, as well as old noble residences, which are wonderful to discover and give you a vast historical insight into the island's history.
Travel information
By air:
- Fly to Dubrovnik airport, about 20 km north of the city,
- take a bus or a taxi to Dubrovnik Harbour at Gruž,
- then take a small ferry boat or a fast motor boat to either Suđurađ or Šipanska Luka ports.
- These ferries run via the other famous Elaphiti Islands of Koločep and Lopud on route to Šipan Island (approx. 1 hour).
By car:
- Take the new highway toward Split,
- then the coast road to Slano (18 km north of Dubrovnik).
- From Slano, there is a private boat to Šipanska Luka, which takes about 20 minutes on the water.
By ferry:
The 2 local companies, Jadrolinija and Nova International, run passenger-only services several times a day. You can take advantage of the local car ferry line as well, either as a passenger or with your car.
Transfer possibilities:
Airport to hotel – Pick up service at the airport, transfer to Dubrovnik (Gruž harbour, around 30 minutes) – around 200 Kuna - ferry from Gruž along the Elaphiti archipelago to Sudjuradj – to Šipan island (approx. 1 hour).
Pick-up at the ferry and transfer to the hotel is free of charge.

At the airport, transport to Slano (18 km from Dubrovnik, approximately 50 minutes), ferry to Šipan, directly to the hotel (approximately 20 minutes).
Depending on your preference you can choose between views to the seaside - waking up breathing in the scent of the stunning bay - or overlooking the village with its elements of Renaissance architecture.
All suites boast superb views of the bay and consist of a bedroom and a small living room.

If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, 100 percent of the first night will be charged.
