Area informationCavtat is a popular place for families to holiday – it is a very beautiful medieval town built on the slopes of the Rat Peninsula. It has a rich cultural and historical heritage so there’s plenty to visit here. There are entertainment programmes all year round and it is a popular venue for the Croatian carnival. If you want to be more active you can make the most of the water sports, horse riding, and walking. The scenery is magnificent, so it’s a lovely place to just relax on the beach as well.
Cavtat is an excellent base to explore the surrounding areas such as: Dubrovnik, which is on UNESCO's World Heritage List, Elaphiti Islands, National Park Mljet, Peljesac peninsula and sights in neighbouring countries like Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kotor in Montenegro.
Travel information
The easiest way to get to Cavtat is by plane, the Dubrovnik airport is just 5 km far from the town. During the season there are numerous flight companies which are offering direct and charter flights from all around Europe.
The other way getting to Cavtat is by car. Once when you get to Dubrovnik by the main road E 65, just keep going for another 16 km and turn right on the T junction to Cavtat.
